Weaponized social media and the beginning of the end of democracy

This really shook  me up . As i begin to the see the whole implications of this . 


Democracy (Greek: δημοκρατία dēmokratía, literally "rule by people") is a system of government where the citizens exercise power by voting. In a direct democracy, the citizens as a whole form a governing body and vote directly on each issue. 

This is how democracy in smaller countries will begin to look.

unless countries digitize each citizens bio metrics and link with block chain and encryption . I dont think even the strongest democracies will know what hit them .There will be HUGE landslide for the site which gets the best weaponised teams . 

Some countries need almost despotic democratic institutions to sort up legacy issues with neighbouring counties. And weaponised social media can give most 3rd world counties a despotic leader to push through the reforms needed pull the country out of year of indecision due to hung parliments

A sound democracy with an effective opposition will ensure the desire of the people is follow through.-- quora

People are programmed since birth . So when it comes to hard decisions like giving land to an enemy country to buy peace a huge majority of people will resist. This is the time when weaponised social media help change the course of history for the good?
